VAUXHALL SKATING CLUB
Pre-CanSkate is offered to brand new skaters with no experience, minimum age of 4 years old as of September 1st. There are a limited number of spots in Pre-CanSkate. Please join the wait list as numbers can change regularly. Spots for January PreCan will only open if space has become available in the program.
Coaches do their best to encourage young skaters. If after 3 sessions skaters are not comfortable with coaches/PA's, remaining skating fees will be returned and the skater will be asked to try again next session.
If your child has any skating experience please register them in CanSkate
Equipment Required: Helmet**, ice skates (hockey, figure or recreation)
** Helmet Policy: PreCan skaters MUST wear CSA approved HOCKEY helmets. **
CanSkate is Skate Canada’s flagship learn-to-skate program for beginners of any age that teaches fundamental movements and basic skills.

** Helmet Policy: Skaters working on STAGE 5 and below MUST wear CSA approved HOCKEY helmets. **
PowerSkate focuses on balance, power, agility, speed and endurance skills, all of which are especially important for hockey and ringette players.
Power Skaters must have some skating experience.
Equipment Required: CSA approved Hockey helmet, hockey gloves, shin pads, stick and hockey skates.
StarSkate:
STARSkate offers opportunities to develop figure skating skills in four different areas.
- Canskaters are allowed to add Junior StarSkate registrations once they COMPLETE CanSkate Stage 3. Skaters should be developmentally ready for independent learning and extended ice times before transitioning.
- If you are interested in registering your child in our StarSkate program, please be in contact with our head coach to determine which session(s) to register for. Enquiries can also be made to vauxhallskating@gmail.com.
- StarSkate Group Lessons - are open to ALL StarSkaters for all sessions. The lesson itself will be taught at the designated level shown on the registration, but all StarSkaters are welcome to be on the ice.
- StarSkate "Privates" Lessons - are open to ALL StarSkaters. Registration fees only cover the cost of ice time. If you wish to have privately coached sessions, you MUST contact the coach directly (additional fees are required for all private lessons).
