- If you have more than one skater, please be sure you are registering the correct skater in the intended program.
- A current Skate Canada membership is mandatory for all participants. The annual membership fee of $58.00 will be added to invoices for all registrants for the 2023-24 Skate Canada season. This fee is non-refundable.
- A payment must be made before the skater goes on the ice.
- Please check your account to see that you are opted-in to receive email. We communicate important information to our members throughout the season. Opportunities for your child to participate in club activities, ice time changes, etc. are all communicated via email. A second email address can be added on the 'Account Details' tab of your account page. Then, select 'Message Lists' on the left side of your account page to manage email preferences for each address.
- Be sure to add no-reply@vauxhallskating.uplifter.com to your Contacts List so our email does not end up in your SPAM folder.

*** NEW BOND INFORMATION***
Each Participant is required to meet a $50 bond. You are required to submit a posted dated cheque (March 1, 2024) or include payment with Uplifter Registration payment. Bonds paid through Uplifter will be non-refundable. There will be several fundraisers to meet the bond requirements otherwise your cheque will be cashed at the end of the year. New skaters to the Vauxhall Skating Club are exempt from the fundraising bond for the first year.
Skate Canada Programs
** Helmet Policy: Skaters working on STAGE 5 and below, as well as all skaters in the PowerSkate program, MUST wear CSA approved HOCKEY helmets. **
Every Skate Canada skating program complements the others and allows for unrestricted movement and development through the system. All programs are taught by professional coaches certified through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP)
CanSkate is Skate Canada’s flagship learn-to-skate program for beginners of any age that teaches fundamental movements and basic skills.
- Pre-Can Skate is offered to brand new skaters with no experience. There is a limited number of spots in Pre-Can. Please join the wait list as numbers can change regularly
- PreCanSkate - will not be open for January intake. Fall registration only.
- If your child has any skating experience please register them in CanSkate
PowerSkate focuses on balance, power, agility, speed and endurance skills, all of which are especially important for hockey and ringette players.
- Power Skaters must have some skating experience
STARSkate offers opportunities to develop figure skating skills in four different areas.
- Canskaters are allowed to add Junior StarSkate registrations once they COMPLETE CanSkate Stage 3. Skaters should be developmentally ready for independent learning and extended ice times before transitioning.
- Junior StarSkaters can transition to Senior when they complete CanSkate Stage 6. If the skater has 3-4 skills left on Stage 6.
- StarSkate Group Lessons - are open to ALL StarSkaters for all sessions. The lesson itself will be taught at the designated level shown on the registration, but all StarSkaters are welcome to be on the ice.
- StarSkate "Privates" Lessons - are open to ALL StarSkaters. Registration is for ice time only. If you wish to have private coached sessions, you MUST contact the coach directly.
